The meeting with the Dubai Chambers delegation was held at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Today’s meeting at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry was attended by the President of the Moscow CCI Vladimir Platonov, Deputy Chairman of the Russia – GCC Commission of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Eugene Golotsan, Regional Director for the Middle East and Eurasia of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Dubai Abdulla Baqer and others.
During the discussions, the parties expressed the mutual interest of the Chambers in developing and strengthening the economic ties between the business communities of Moscow and Dubai.
Abdulla Baqer reported on the restructuring of the Dubai Chambers, which led to the formation of three chambers: one of them deals with the support of local entrepreneurs, the second one — with international contacts, and the third one is focused on the development of the digital economy. He also noted that one of the priority goals of the Dubai International Chamber is to open 50 global offices around the world, including Russia. A representative office of the Chamber has already been opened in Moscow, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry plans to open the next office in St. Petersburg.
The parties discussed the prospects and directions of bilateral cooperation in such areas as healthcare, IT technology, logistics and education, paying special attention to the latter one. The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, and The University of Dubai, which belongs to the Dubai Chambers, may create a platform for the exchange of students and teachers and the development of joint research and training programs.
According to Eugene Golotsan, the Russia – GCC Commission of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been successfully cooperating with the Dubai Chambers for a long time and is ready to contribute to the implementation of joint projects in the future. Eugene called the development of smart cities one of the promising areas, in addition to IT technologies, healthcare and education.
Following the meeting, a number of agreements were reached on plans for bilateral cooperation between the Dubai Chambers and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry to ensure fruitful interaction between representatives of Russian and Emirati business circles.
