Sharjah Business Week in Russia: conference «Opportunities for cooperation with companies of the Emirate of Sharjah»

On September 7, an open conference «Opportunities for cooperation with companies of the Emirate of Sharjah» was held at the Marriott Aurora Hotel, Moscow, as part of the Sharjah business mission to Russia. The event was organized by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry and INCONA with the support of the Russian-Emirati Business Council (REBC).

The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the REBC Sergey Gorkov, who noted the rapid growth of trade between Russia and the UAE and expressed hope for reaching a record level of trade turnover by the end of 2021 — 5 billion US dollars.
In response, the Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, called Moscow a «work of art» and urged colleagues to further develop cooperation in the field of tourism. He noted that there are a lot of tourists from the UAE in Moscow now.

In turn, Alexey Busev, Chairman of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Commission for Foreign Economic Cooperation with Partners in the UAE and General Director of INCONA, who also moderated the meeting, added that the Emirates are an entry point not only to the markets of the Gulf countries, but also to the markets of the Middle East and North Africa. He noted that today Sharjah is the third largest emirate of the UAE with developed areas of manufacturing (16.9%), real estate (13%) and trade (12.1%).

At the end of the official part, representatives of 12 companies from the Emirate of Sharjah addressed the conference participants: Al Zain Oasis Technology LLC, Global Reach FZE, Emaar International Industries LLC, Glazier International FZC, Global Textile Corp. FZE, Al Afeef Kitchens accessories TR. CO. LLC and others.
