Sharjah Business Week in Russia: the third face-to-face meeting of the REBC

On September 7, Moscow hosted a regular joint meeting of the Russian-Emirati and Emirati-Russian Business Councils on the topic «Russian-Emirati cooperation in tourism», chaired by Sergey Gorkov and Abdullah Sultan Al Owais.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the tourism committees of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Sharjah, Ras al Khaimah and Ajman, as well as top officials of companies specializing in domestic tourism and organizing tours for tourists from the Emirates.

The participants of the meeting agreed that the tourism potential of many regions of Russia and the UAE is underestimated. Many significant and promising locations are unknown to Emirati tourists, as well as other Emirates — apart from Dubai and Abu Dhabi — that have all the necessary competitive infrastructure are unknown to Russian tourists.

The parties agreed that the mutual Russian-Emirati tourist flow has already increased significantly against the background of the closure of borders with most countries, but joint business events can significantly accelerate this movement: road shows in Russia and the UAE, study tours and advertising campaigns.
