Working visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to the United Arab Emirates

On November 3, 2022, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, arrived on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi.

According to the UAE News Agency, at the meeting, the diplomats «considered a number of issues of mutual interest and exchanged views» on these issues. The sides discussed the relations and strategic partnership between the UAE and Russia, as well as «the efforts of the two friendly countries to strengthen the prospects for joint cooperation in all areas.»

At the same time, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan noted the positive results of the meeting of UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan with Russian President Vladimir Putin held in St. Petersburg in October, stressing that the results of the talks «reflected the rapid development of cooperation between the countries.»

After the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE hosted a banquet in honor of Sergey Lavrov and his accompanying delegation.
